At a glance

Zyter|TruCare, a Vertical AI Execution company supporting more than 44 million covered lives, partnered with AWS and Caylent to modernize its TruCare platform into a cloud- native, AI-ready foundation. The result is a production-grade Digital Transactional Core powering Zyter Praxis™ workflows and Symphony™ orchestration across dozens of payer environments at national scale.

Solution Implemented

Modern AWS Landing Zone: Deployed AWS Control Tower with a multi-account strategy, standardized environment provisioning, and embedded HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, and FedRAMP-style compliance guardrails.

Cloud-Native Re-Platforming: Migrated TruCare workloads to Amazon EKS with Terraform and Git-based CI/CD pipelines for consistent, automated deployments across all payer environments.

Zero-Downtime Enterprise Migrations: Moved a 50TB+ SQL Server deployment and 100TB+ of file data for Zyter's largest customer without disrupting live production systems.

AI-Ready Digital Transactional Core: Built a scalable, governed infrastructure foundation to support Praxis™ workflow execution and Symphony™ orchestration across multi-tenant payer environments at scale.

Outcomes Achieved

99.999% Availability: Delivered enterprise-grade resiliency across 15 production environments supporting over 44 million covered lives.

70% Reduction in Observability Costs: Replaced legacy monitoring with AWS-native tooling, cutting costs while improving system-wide visibility.

Deployments Reduced from Weeks to Hours: Automation and standardized patterns accelerated environment provisioning and payer onboarding.

AI Execution at Scale: Praxis workflows for prior authorization, care coordination, and utilization management now operate with Symphony™ governed orchestration across the full customer base.

Zyter|TruCare, a Vertical AI Execution company supporting more than 44 million covered lives, collaborated with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Caylent to transform its TruCare platform into a cloud-native, highly automated, and resilient foundation built to operationalize AI-driven workflow execution at enterprise scale.

The transformation establishes the infrastructure required to execute Zyter Praxis™ workflows — pre-built, AI-powered workflows for end-to-end Utilization Management (UM), Care Management (CM), and clinical processes — orchestrated by Zyter Symphony™, Zyter’s AI orchestration control plane.

Business Challenge

Executing AI in healthcare isn't a software problem — it's an infrastructure problem. Praxis™ workflows and Symphony™ orchestration require a foundation that handles real-time coordination across clinical systems, enforces policy compliance at every execution step, and meets the uptime guarantees that regulated healthcare demands. That foundation has to be designed, not inherited.

Zyter's product teams had built something new: a Vertical AI Execution Platform, where workflows for prior authorization, care coordination, and utilization management execute under full governance — with auditability, policy enforcement, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints at every step. To operate across dozens of payer environments serving more than 44 million covered lives at 24/7 reliability, the Digital Transactional Core underpinning Praxis and Symphony had to be cloud-native, multi-tenant, and infrastructure-as-code from the ground up.

Zyter engaged AWS and Caylent to build that foundation — designing a modernized Digital Core with embedded compliance guardrails, and automated deployment pipelines capable of handling the scale and complexity of enterprise healthcare AI execution, including the migration of critical clinical environments without disrupting the care managers and clinicians who depend on them daily.

Solution

Zyter partnered with AWS and Caylent to architect a fully modernized cloud platform its Vertical AI Execution Platform requires.

“Together with AWS and Caylent, we designed a cloud-native infrastructure strategy focused on automation, resilience, and standardization — building the Digital Transactional Core that Praxis and Symphony require to execute in production,” said Sruthi Madhavan, VP of Product & Transformation at Zyter.

Zyter first implemented a modern AWS landing zone with AWS Control Tower and a multi-account strategy so it could provision environments for individual health plans in a standardized, secure way. Security and compliance guardrails aligned with HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, and FedRAMP-style controls were embedded from the start, supported by readiness assessments, well-architected reviews, and clear runbooks to help Zyter’s teams adopt cloud-native practices.

With this foundation in place, Zyter re-platformed TruCare workloads through Caylent onto Amazon EKS and shifted infrastructure and application management to Terraform and Git-based pipelines. This modernization enabled consistent, automated deployments and made it possible to tackle complex migrations, including a 50TB+ SQL Server deployment and over 100TB of file data for Zyter’s largest customer, all moved with zero downtime. As additional payer environments were migrated, standardized patterns for networking, compute, storage, and observability gave Zyter a repeatable way to bring customers onto the platform and prepare those environments for Praxis workflow deployment.

The architecture decisions — including EKS, Terraform-based pipelines, and the multi-account landing zone — were evaluated for their ability to support consistent and scalable deployment of Praxis workflows and Symphony orchestration across payer environments. This ensures the modernized Digital Core serves as a production-ready foundation for Zyter’s Vertical AI Execution Platform.

Results

The partnership delivered 99.999% availability across 15 production environments, zero downtime during major migrations, including large clinical databases, and a 70% reduction in observability costs alongside improved system-wide visibility.

“Deployment timelines have been reduced from weeks to hours through automation, supported by a standardized, secure, and compliant infrastructure optimized for AI workloads — which makes Praxis and Symphony possible at enterprise scale,” said Madhavan.

This modernized Digital Transactional Core now serves as the operational foundation for Zyter’s Vertical AI Execution Platform — enabling Praxis workflows for prior authorization, care coordination, and utilization management to execute with Symphony’s governed orchestration across dozens of payer environments at national scale.

Technologies Used

Zyter’s modernized platform is built on Amazon EKS for container orchestration, Amazon EC2 (including Graviton-based instances) for compute and large SQL Server workloads, Amazon EFS and Amazon S3 for storage, and AWS Direct Connect with AWS Transit Gateway for secure connectivity, all governed by AWS Control Tower, IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, Security Hub, and AWS Config, with observability provided by Amazon OpenSearch Service, managed Prometheus/Mimir, Amazon CloudWatch, Fluent Bit/FireLens, and Grafana, and DevOps automation powered by Terraform with Atlantis, Git-based CI/CD, Argo CD, AWS Systems Manager, and AWS Backup—giving Zyter a standardized, modern foundation to operate TruCare and scale Zyter Symphony’s agentic AI capabilities.
